Eile is a 21-year-old 6-5 right-footed center-back from Lund, a University town in southern Sweden. Despite his young age, Eile has over 40 pro appearances for Mjallby where he has been on loan the past 2 seasons.
At Mjallby he has lined up mostly as an outside center back in a back 3. Overall he has mostly played on the right side of the field however more recently he has been on the left side of a 3 CB formation as well. His heat maps also show a player who is not afraid to venture to the touchline and further upfield. While highlight tapes don’t tell the full story they do show a player who is comfortable on the ball and with both feet. Much of his highlights are him pushing the ball forward and breaking lines on the dribble from his CB position. His highlights also show him even wider signaling potential ability to play as a more natural right back in a more defensive role.
While this is still a rumor, and it has yet to be confirmed by the usual sources in the MLS world, Eile profile fits what the Red Bulls tend to look for in a CB. He is tall athletic and young. On top of that CB is a big need for the Red Bulls as they have no other natural CBs with any serious first-team experience. Eile profiles as a player who can push Sean Nealis and Andres Reyes in training as well as be an option if Sandro Schwarz prefers a 3-CB formation.
Without access to full games its impossible to get a full picture of who Eile is. However, his profile for the role that needs to be filled checks a lot of boxes.
